Rally Freestyle Elements Northeast Regional Video Event

Congrats to everyone who entered into the RFE Northeast Regional 1 2015 Musical Freestyle video event. I see LOTS of Qs on the scoresheet, and some very high scores! Wohoo!!

Here is mine and Terra's Advanced division entry:

I'm very pleased with our 94/100, a 2nd place in our division, and our first Q toward our title in Advanced division!!
Looking forward to the Newtown live event in October!

I will be teaching a Rally Freestyle class at PCOTC in White Plains in July. More info here: www.teachrover.com

May-June AKC STAR Puppy Class: Socialization Begins!

The puppies in my spring puppy class are very lucky to have such dedicated and hard-working owners! They are all getting right to work on their socialization projects. Socialization is to make sure that a puppy's first impressions of the world are positive and not stressful. This creates a confident and relaxed adult dog, that can adapt easily to new situations with some human guidance.

Terra's new musical freestyle routine "Flying Home"

Terra and I have moved on up to the Premier Freestyle division with the Musical Dog Sport Association and the Advanced Freestyle division with Rally Freestyle Elements. This means our routines are longer (3 minutes or more!), have more requirements, and must be done with precision heeling and minimal overt signals. We are really enjoying the challenge and love the training time we get together. Here is our first Premier level routine for MDSA. Hope you enjoy it!

AKC STAR Puppy Class March 2015

We have LOTS of fun puppies in class this March! Let the socialization contest begin!! Prizes will be awarded for the puppy in the most unique situation, and for the puppy photographed with the most people.

Sally has already gotten right to work on her socialization project! She rode in a translucent elevator to visit people in the Apple Store, encountered new dogs, sounds and people on the streets of the city, and even went to a dog show!

Dot and her littermate Jester made new friends at martial arts class, a canine playdate, and a visit to Pet Pantry!

Jackson and Uma and Sally are joining in the fun with photos of visits to the beach, the pet store, and exploring the city!

Jackson explored a new house that included a harp, a fireplace, lots of gardening adventures and even a dock and lake!!

Sally met a horse and a policeman. Una rode on a sailboat! Teddy made new friends at the dog beach and at a walk-a-thon event! Boodle met over 40 different people!!
